Fotona 4D Laser
A multi-layer Er:YAG and Nd:YAG laser protocol used to stimulate collagen and resurface the skin surface across four treatment passes.
What it is
Fotona 4D is a laser protocol that combines two wavelengths — Er:YAG and Nd:YAG — delivered in four sequential passes. Rather than treating only the skin surface, the passes target different depths, including one delivered through the inside of the mouth to reach the tissue supporting the mid-face.
How it works
Controlled heat causes a measured injury to the deeper layers of the skin. In response, the body produces new collagen over the following weeks. Because this depends on your own tissue remodelling, changes appear gradually rather than immediately.
What to expect
- A consultation and skin assessment before the first session
- Warmth and redness during and shortly after treatment
- A course of sessions spaced several weeks apart is usual
- Gradual change over two to three months as collagen remodels
Aftercare
Daily broad-spectrum sun protection is essential after any laser treatment, both to protect the treated skin and to reduce the risk of pigmentation changes. Avoid heat, saunas and vigorous exercise for the first 24 to 48 hours, and follow the specific aftercare advice given at your appointment.
What it cannot do
Laser rejuvenation works on skin quality and firmness. It does not replace surgery where there is significant tissue descent, and results vary between individuals depending on skin type, age and the condition being treated. Suitability is determined at consultation.
