AGNES Radiofrequency
Micro-needle radiofrequency that delivers energy to precisely targeted points, used for selective fat reduction, tightening and acne management.
What it is
AGNES uses insulated micro-needles to deliver radiofrequency energy to a specific depth, at specific points, rather than across the whole surface of the skin. That precision is what allows it to be used for different purposes depending on where the energy is placed.
What it is used for
- Selective reduction of small fat pockets, such as under the chin or along the jowl
- Tightening in areas of mild skin laxity
- Treating individual acne lesions and the oil glands that feed them
- Syringoma and other small benign lesions
How it works
The needle passes through the skin surface and releases energy only at its uninsulated tip. This means the target tissue is heated while the surface is comparatively spared. For acne, the energy is directed at the sebaceous gland; for contouring, at small deposits of fat.
What to expect
Local anaesthetic is used. Swelling is expected afterwards and is often most noticeable on the second and third day, particularly when the lower face has been treated. Bruising is common. Most people plan the treatment when they have several quiet days available.
What it cannot do
AGNES treats small, well-defined areas. It is not a treatment for generalised weight reduction, and it does not achieve what surgery achieves where there is substantial laxity. More than one session is often needed, and results differ between individuals.
Safety information
All medical procedures carry risk. The points below are general and are not a substitute for an individual assessment.
Possible side effects
Swelling, bruising, tenderness and small crusts at needle sites. Less commonly, temporary pigmentation changes, prolonged swelling, or irregularity where fat has been treated.
May not be suitable if
Pregnancy or breastfeeding, an implanted pacemaker or defibrillator, active infection in the treatment area, bleeding disorders or anticoagulant therapy without medical clearance, or a history of keloid scarring.
